While I think a great Phoebe Tyers tribute/parody song would be "Barbara Streisand" by Duck Sauce, and just replace "Barbara Streisand" with "Phoebe Tyers", I thought a more thoughtful parody/tribute was worthwhile...even as a die-hard Crystal Delahanty fan. I think this one is pretty good, but could use some help from "Phoebe Insiders" to edit some Phoebe-specific details.
And what is more 'loopy' than a Rolling Stones song where Keith Richards plays the piano (instead of a guitar), Brian Jones (R.I.P.) plays a recorder, and Bill Wyman (Perks) plays a double bass with a bow (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YJXfcndyvU)?
And AC$ needs "mass props" for his awesome "shine like the moon" lyrics!!!
Original Song Title: Ruby Tuesday by the Rolling Stones (no, kids, Ruby Tuesday isn't just a restaurant)
Original Lyrics: Google Play
Original Song: YouTube (yes, kids, this guy is officially a Knight in England)
Phoebe Tyers
[verse 1]
She would never hide where she came from
Or how she learned to help ghosts from her mom
Like the moon so bright
She guides us through the night
Yes, she knows
The way to go
[chorus]
Thank you, Phoebe Tyers
What would we do without you?
Share your light with Unbelievers
Shine on like the moon
[verse 2]
She questions what she sees, to set us free
She tells us what has been, and what should be
She just won’t believe
Llfe is only what we see
She knows there’s more
Yes, so much more
[chorus]
Thank you, Phoebe Tyers
What would we do without you?
Share your light with Unbelievers
Shine on like the moon
[verse 3]
She wrote: “I don’t look like Tina Fey”
Chase your dreams, whatever people say
Un-learn all the time,
Un-believe,
And you can save your mind,
Like I saved mine
[chorus]
Thank you, Phoebe Tyers
What would we do without you?
Share your light with Unbelievers
Shine on like the moon
[chorus again]
We love Phoebe Tyers
What would we do without you?
Share your light with Unbelievers
Shine on like the moon
